YORKSHIRE MOTORSPORT

A CENTURY OF MEMORIES

BY LARRY CARTER

Yorkshire Motorsport – A Century of Memories is the second book in Larry Carter’s trilogy (North Eastern Motorsport & Scottish Motorsport being the sister titles) and is filled with historic reminiscences and insights from motorsport in the UK’s largest county. Tragedy and triumph are interspersed with stories on gritty Yorkshiremen, events and places, along with many unseen pictures and a very interesting foreword by Yorkshireman, Carnaby veteran and ten-time World Sidecar Champion Steve Webster.

Fans of Oliver’s Mount will find a treasure trove of information relating to England’s only real road racing circuit, whilst there is also a chapter focused entirely on Carnaby Raceway and its place in that history. Of course, with both circuits being featured there are numerous mentions of the Auto66 Club and its founder Pete Hillaby, who was a massive part of local motorsport and instrumental in facilitating a start in racing for so many future stars & plucky amateurs alike.

This is a book we already had in our own collection before we opened a shop and we therefore knew it was an absolute must to stock it as soon as we did open the doors.
