We’ve accumulated A LOT of books and magazines about motorbikes and motorbike racing over the years - some bought, some gifted and more recently since we opened the shop, some very kindly donated.

It feels right to share these books with our biker community and make HB somewhere where people can not only relax with a random bike book or magazine, but they can actually visit specifically to seek out a title that they’ve been looking for that may now be out of print, out of stock or even out of budget (as some of the books have gained a bit of value through rarity over the years).

The only downside to offering a library is that we also sell books and these are pretty much entirely from small-scale, niche or hobbyist writers who have a link to Carnaby or Oliver’s Mount. So much love & passion goes into producing these works without a chance of J K Rowling or even J R Hartley levels of wealth & fame in return and it would be a shame if we hampered their sales. So whilst you’re welcome to peruse the library without pressure to buy a single thing, if you’ve got an interest in the ‘local’ titles we’d love it if you could support their writers with a purchase where possible. Some of these books are signed by the author to show their appreciation for your support and to add something special for the owner.
